Don’t let perfection get in the way

Just this year, I’ve lost count of how many personal projects I’ve started and abandoned halfway through. Perfectionism, which is supposed to help, ends up holding me back more than anything else.

For a while now, I’ve been toying with the idea of starting a blog just to share what’s been floating around in my mind. As someone who’s lived with anxiety since childhood, one of the things that calms me down, even if it doesn’t fix everything, is personal growth. I love reading, listening, and thinking about it, and I thought maybe writing could help too.

They say writing helps to clear your mind. So I took that urge and combined it with the need to let things out, and here it is. My little corner. Time to get to work.

But I’ll be honest. I’ve spent the past week messing around with WordPress, testing themes, and scrolling through Pinterest for inspiration. Every time I thought I’d finished the layout, that feeling of “this isn’t quite it” would hit. That was perfectionism talking, and today I realized that if I keep waiting for it to be perfect, this blog is never going to happen.

(not gonna lie, I’ve already posted here three times and made several Pinterest pins, only to delete everything and start over. oops.)

So I decided to write this post even though the site isn’t 100% ready yet. Some pages are still missing, a few things feel unfinished, and the layout isn’t exactly how I imagined. But I’ve realized that if I keep waiting for everything to be perfect, this blog might never see the light of day. So here I am! Little by little, I’ll keep working on it, without overthinking, without burning myself out.

And why am I telling you all this? Because maybe you’re also holding yourself back, waiting for the “right time” to begin something important to you. A project, a habit, a dream — whatever it is, you don’t have to wait until everything feels perfect. You can begin right now. Start messy. Start unsure. Start anyway.

The perfect moment is a myth. What matters is moving, even if it’s slow. Especially if it’s slow.

Now, about this little space. The idea is simple: to share thoughts on personal growth, anxiety, burnout, self-care, and whatever else shows up along the way. Sometimes I’ll write just to untangle ideas I’ve picked up, to try to understand things better, to breathe a little. Writing feels like a way of sorting through the noise, and maybe, in doing that, it helps someone else feel less alone too.

And if you’ve somehow found your way here and connected with anything I’ve shared, I’d love to hear your thoughts, read your stories, and maybe even exchange a few heartfelt messages. Make yourself at home. This space is yours too.

I want this blog to feel like a calm pause in the middle of the noise, both online and in real life.

So if you ever feel like you need a breather, stay awhile. The door’s always open if you want to come back!

Let’s talk! Do you have something you want to start, but something is holding you back?
